    Description

    Nurofen 200mg Tablets – 96 Pack

Nurofen 200mg Tablets contain ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides effective relief from a wide range of everyday pains including headaches, migraines, dental pain, period pain, muscular aches, back pain, and cold and flu symptoms.

    How It Works

Ibuprofen works by blocking the production of chemicals called prostaglandins, which are released by the body in response to injury or illness and cause pain, swelling, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin levels, ibuprofen helps to relieve pain and lower a raised temperature.

    Directions for Use

Adults and young people aged 12 years and over: take 1 to 2 tablets (200mg–400mg) with water, up to three times a day as needed. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not exceed 6 tablets (1200mg) in 24 hours. Take with or after food to help reduce the chance of stomach upset. This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Ibuprofen may interact with a number of medicines, including blood thinners (such as warfarin), aspirin, other NSAIDs, blood pressure medicines, diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, and some antidepressants (such as SSRIs). Taking ibuprofen alongside these medicines may increase the risk of side effects or reduce their effectiveness. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Ibuprofen should be avoided during the last three months of pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby or cause complications during delivery. It is generally not recommended during the first six months of pregnancy unless advised by a doctor. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts; while occasional short-term use is generally considered low risk, caution is advised. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Drinking alcohol while taking ibuprofen can increase the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advisable to avoid or minimise alcohol consumption whilst taking this medicine, particularly if you are taking it regularly or at higher doses.

Nurofen 200mg Tablets are not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience dizziness or any other side effect that could impair your concentration or reaction times, do not drive or use machinery until you feel well again.
