How much weight can you lose with weight loss treatments?

The amount of weight you may lose varies from person to person and depends on factors including the treatment, dose, how your body responds, and the lifestyle changes you make. Your prescriber will discuss realistic expectations with you and review your progress throughout treatment.

What’s the difference between the tablets and the injections?

The main difference is how you take it: a small daily tablet with no needles, instead of a weekly injection. We offer two daily tablets. The Wegovy® pill contains semaglutide — the same active ingredient as the Wegovy® injection — so it works in the same way, reducing appetite and helping you feel fuller for longer. It’s taken on an empty stomach when you wake up, with a 30-minute wait before eating, drinking or taking other oral medicines. Foundayo® contains a different active ingredient, orforglipron, which also acts on the GLP-1 receptor to reduce appetite and food intake, and can be taken at any time of day. Your prescriber will help you choose the option that fits your health and routine.

You offer two weight-loss tablets — what’s the difference?

Both are once-daily tablets rather than weekly injections. The Wegovy® pill contains semaglutide, the same active ingredient as the Wegovy® injection, and is taken on an empty stomach when you wake up, with up to half a glass of water and a 30-minute wait before eating, drinking or taking other oral medicines. Foundayo® contains orforglipron and can be taken at any time of day, with or without food and without a water restriction. They’re different medicines, so their side effects and how well they suit you can differ. These treatments all work in the same way, so you’d only be prescribed one at a time. Your prescriber will go through this with you.

How do I take the weight-loss tablets?

It depends which tablet you are prescribed.

If you’re taking the Wegovy® pill: take it once a day on an empty stomach when you wake up, with up to half a glass (120 ml) of water. Swallow it whole — don’t split, crush or chew it — and wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking other oral medicines.
Missed a dose? Skip it and take your next dose the following day.

If you’re taking Foundayo®: take it once a day at any time of day, with or without food and without a water restriction, and swallow it whole — don’t split, crush or chew it.
Missed a dose? Take it as soon as you remember that day. Do not take two tablets on the same day.

Can I switch from injections to the tablets?

In many cases, yes — switching between the injections and the daily tablets is possible with prescriber guidance. The doses don’t map one-to-one, so your prescriber will confirm the right starting dose for you. Your prescriber will also tell you when to start the tablets in relation to your last injection — don’t start them before you’ve been told to. Start a consultation and our clinical team will guide you through it.

Do I need to follow a strict diet?

You don’t need to crash diet, but these treatments are licensed to be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity.

Is this a long-term solution?

Weight loss treatments can be used long term under medical supervision. Your prescriber will help you decide how long to continue based on your progress and which treatment you’re on.

Do you offer maintenance?

Yes, at PillSorted, our clinical team takes a personalised approach to long-term maintenance. There’s no fixed time limit on maintenance—it can even be lifelong, depending on your needs and health condition. Whether you’re on a weekly injection or a daily tablet, a maintenance dose is often possible, but it requires careful monitoring to make sure it stays effective and safe for you. Read more about maintenance treatment.

How do I know if I’m eligible?

Our online consultation assesses your health, BMI, and medical history. If a particular treatment isn’t right for you, we may recommend alternatives — including choosing between an injection and a daily tablet.

Your dedicated prescriber is with you from day one — your treatment, your challenges, your wins.
