    Ibuprofen 400mg Max Strength – 84 Tablets

Ibuprofen 400mg Max Strength Tablets are a maximum-strength, non-prescription painkiller used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and lower fever. They are suitable for adults and young people aged 12 and over, and can be used to treat conditions such as headache, migraine, back pain, period pain, toothache, muscle pain, neuralgia, rheumatic pain, and discomfort caused by colds and flu.

    How It Works

Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of prostaglandins — natural chemicals in the body that cause pain, swelling, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin levels, ibuprofen helps to relieve pain and inflammation at the source.

    Directions for Use

Adults and young people aged 12 years and over should take 1 tablet (400mg) up to three times a day as needed. Leave at least 6 hours between doses and do not exceed 3 tablets (1,200mg) in any 24-hour period. Tablets should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water, and it is best to take them with or after food to reduce the chance of stomach upset. Do not give to children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Ibuprofen may interact with a number of medicines, including blood thinners (such as warfarin), aspirin, other NSAIDs, certain blood pressure medicines (ACE inhibitors and diuretics), lithium, methotrexate, and some antidepressants (such as SSRIs). Taking ibuprofen alongside these medicines may increase the risk of side effects or reduce their effectiveness. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Ibuprofen should not be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy (27 weeks onwards) as it may harm the unborn baby. It should only be used in the first and second trimesters with caution and under medical advice. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally considered to be acceptable to use while breastfeeding at the recommended doses, but advice should still be sought. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Drinking alcohol whilst taking ibuprofen may increase the risk of stomach bleeding and irritation. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption during treatment with ibuprofen, particularly if you are taking it regularly or have a sensitive stomach.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Ibuprofen 400mg tablets are not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience dizziness or any other side effects that may impair your reactions, you should not drive or use machinery until you feel well again.
