Description
Ibuprofen 200mg – 24 Tablets
Ibuprofen 200mg Tablets are a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve mild to moderate pain, reduce inflammation, and lower fever. They are commonly used for headaches, toothache, period pain, back pain, muscle aches, sprains, strains, migraine, and cold or flu symptoms.
⸻
How It Works
Ibuprofen works by blocking enzymes called COX-1 and COX-2, which are responsible for producing prostaglandins — chemicals in the body that cause pain, swelling, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin production, ibuprofen helps to relieve discomfort and reduce inflammation at the source.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and young people aged 12 years and over: Take 1 to 2 tablets (200mg–400mg) up to three times a day as needed. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 3 doses (1,200mg) in 24 hours. Always take ibuprofen with or after food to reduce the risk of stomach upset. This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Interactions
Ibuprofen may interact with a number of medicines, including aspirin and other NSAIDs, blood thinners such as warfarin, antidepressants (particularly SSRIs), blood pressure medicines, diuretics (water tablets), lithium, and methotrexate. Taking ibuprofen alongside other NSAIDs or aspirin (except low-dose aspirin prescribed by your doctor) increases the risk of side effects. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Ibuprofen should not be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby. Use during the first and second trimesters should only be considered under medical supervision. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally considered unsuitable during breastfeeding without medical guidance. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Drinking alcohol whilst taking ibuprofen can increase the risk of stomach irritation, bleeding, and ulcers. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption whilst using this medicine, particularly if taking it regularly or at higher doses.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Ibuprofen 200mg Tablets are not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery in most people. However, if you experience dizziness or any other side effect that could affect your concentration or reactions, do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you feel well again.
