E45 Dermatological Cream is a clinically proven emollient (moisturising) cream used to soothe and relieve dry, itchy, cracked, or flaky skin. It can be used to help manage symptoms of skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, ichthyosis, and certain types of psoriasis, and is suitable for adults, children, and babies from 1 month of age.

How It Works

E45 Cream works by forming a protective barrier on the surface of the skin, locking in moisture and preventing water loss. Its combination of emollient and humectant ingredients softens and hydrates the skin, helping to restore and maintain the skin’s natural moisture balance. Regular use helps to calm irritation and improve the skin’s overall condition.

Directions for Use

Apply E45 Cream directly to the affected area of skin as often as needed, or as directed by your doctor. Smooth the cream gently into the skin in the direction of hair growth. It can be used on the face, body, and hands, and is suitable for frequent daily use. For babies, apply only to the affected areas. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Possible Side Effects

E45 Cream is generally well tolerated, but as with all medicines, some people may experience side effects:
• Skin irritation or redness at the site of application
• Itching or burning sensation on the skin
• Allergic skin reactions (such as rash or hives) — rare
• Folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles) with excessive use under occlusive dressings
If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

Do not use E45 Cream if:
• You are allergic to any of the active or inactive ingredients, including lanolin (wool fat)
• You have a known sensitivity to wool or wool-derived products
• You have been advised by your doctor not to use emollient products containing paraffin
• The product is intended for use on infected or acutely inflamed skin without medical supervision

Interactions

E45 Cream is applied topically and is not known to have significant interactions with other medicines when used as directed. However, be aware that emollient creams containing paraffin can increase the flammability of fabrics such as clothing, bedding, and dressings — keep away from open flames and do not smoke whilst using this product. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

E45 Cream is considered suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding when used as directed on the skin. If applying to the breast area, ensure it is cleaned thoroughly before breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Alcohol

There is no known interaction between E45 Dermatological Cream and alcohol. This product is applied to the skin and is not taken by mouth, so alcohol consumption does not affect how the cream works.

Driving and Operating Machinery

E45 Dermatological Cream is applied topically to the skin and does not cause drowsiness or affect alertness. It is not expected to have any effect on your ability to drive or operate machinery.

Storage

Store E45 Cream below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not freeze. Keep the lid tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
