    Description

    Stugeron – 15 Tablets

Stugeron 15 Tablets contain cinnarizine, an antihistamine used to prevent and relieve the symptoms of travel sickness, including nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. They can also be used to help manage symptoms of vertigo caused by inner ear disorders.

    How It Works

Cinnarizine works by blocking histamine receptors in the brain and reducing the activity of the vestibular system — the part of the inner ear responsible for balance. By calming the signals sent from the inner ear to the brain, it helps prevent the feelings of nausea, dizziness, and sickness associated with motion and vertigo.

    Directions for Use

For travel sickness in adults and children aged 12 and over: take 2 tablets (30 mg) at least 2 hours before travel, then 1 tablet every 8 hours during the journey if needed. For children aged 5 to 11 years: half the adult dose (1 tablet before travel, then half a tablet every 8 hours). For vertigo in adults: take 2 tablets three times a day. Tablets should be swallowed with water and may be taken with food to reduce the chance of stomach upset. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    • People with a known allergy to cinnarizine or any other ingredient in the tablets
    • People with Parkinson’s disease or a history of movement disorders
    • People with porphyria (a rare blood disorder)

    Interactions

Cinnarizine may interact with other medicines that cause drowsiness, including sleeping tablets, anxiety medicines, antidepressants, strong painkillers, and other antihistamines, potentially increasing sedation. It may also interact with medicines used to treat Parkinson’s disease, reducing their effectiveness. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The safety of cinnarizine during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been fully established. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, or whilst breastfeeding unless clearly advised by a healthcare professional. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Avoid drinking alcohol whilst taking Stugeron, as cinnarizine can cause drowsiness and alcohol will significantly increase this effect. This combination can impair your ability to react and concentrate, making everyday activities such as driving or operating machinery particularly dangerous.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Stugeron can cause drowsiness and may impair your ability to drive or operate machinery safely. Do not drive or use tools or machines until you know how this medicine affects you. The drowsiness effect may be made worse by alcohol or other sedating medicines.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
