Description
Solpadeine Max Soluble – 32 Tablets
Solpadeine Max Soluble Tablets are a pharmacy medicine used to relieve moderate to severe pain, including headaches, migraines, dental pain, period pain, and muscle aches. Each tablet is dissolved in water to make a drink, which may help the medicine work more quickly.
⸻
How It Works
Solpadeine Max contains three active ingredients that work together to tackle pain. Paracetamol and codeine phosphate both help to reduce pain signals in the body, with codeine providing additional relief for more stubborn pain. Caffeine acts as a mild stimulant that enhances the pain-relieving effects of the other ingredients, helping the combination to work more effectively overall.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and young people aged 16 and over should dissolve 2 tablets in a glass of water and drink the solution. This dose can be repeated every 4 to 6 hours as needed, but do not take more than 8 tablets in any 24-hour period. Do not use for more than 3 days without speaking to a doctor. This medicine is not suitable for children under 16 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

⸻

⸻
Who Should Not Take This Medicine
• Children and young people under 16 years of age
• People who are allergic to paracetamol, codeine, caffeine, or any other ingredient in the product
• People who have a condition called “ultra-rapid codeine metaboliser” (a genetic condition affecting how your body processes codeine)
• People with severe liver or kidney problems
• Breastfeeding mothers
• People with breathing difficulties, including asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• People who are already taking other codeine- or paracetamol-containing products
⸻
Interactions
Solpadeine Max may interact with other medicines, including other paracetamol-containing products, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) used for depression, blood-thinning medicines such as warfarin, medicines that cause drowsiness (such as sleeping tablets, anxiety medicines, or antihistamines), and certain antibiotics such as rifampicin. Taking this medicine alongside other stimulants or caffeine-containing products (such as caffeine tablets or energy drinks) may increase side effects. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Solpadeine Max is not recommended during pregnancy without medical advice, as codeine may affect the unborn baby, particularly if used near the time of delivery. This medicine must not be used while breastfeeding, as codeine can pass into breast milk and may cause serious harm to a nursing baby. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Solpadeine Max. Alcohol can increase the risk of side effects from both paracetamol (potentially increasing the risk of liver damage) and codeine (increasing sedation and dizziness). It is safest to abstain from alcohol for the duration of your course of treatment.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Solpadeine Max contains codeine, which can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired concentration — particularly when you first start taking it. You should not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how this medicine affects you. The caffeine content may partially counteract drowsiness in some people, but this cannot be relied upon as a safeguard.
⸻
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
