Savlon Antiseptic Cream is a dual-action antiseptic cream used to cleanse and help prevent infection in minor cuts, grazes, blisters, minor burns, scalds, insect bites and stings, and chapped or rough skin.

How It Works

Savlon Antiseptic Cream contains two active ingredients that work together to kill bacteria and other germs on the skin. Chlorhexidine gluconate disrupts the outer membrane of bacteria, destroying them, while cetrimide acts as a detergent-like antiseptic that removes dirt and debris and helps prevent infection from taking hold in minor wounds.

Directions for Use

Clean the affected area thoroughly, then apply a small amount of Savlon Antiseptic Cream directly to the wound or skin as needed. It can be used on adults, children, and the elderly. Avoid applying to large areas of broken skin, and do not use under airtight dressings unless directed by a healthcare professional. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.

Possible Side Effects

• Skin irritation or redness at the application site

Who Should Not Use This Product

• People with a known allergy to chlorhexidine, cetrimide, or any other ingredient in the cream
• Do not use in or around the eyes, ears, or mouth
• Do not apply to large open wounds or serious burns — seek medical attention instead
• Do not use on deep puncture wounds or animal bites without first consulting a doctor
• Not recommended for use inside body cavities

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
