    Description

    Salactol Wart Paint – 10ml

Salactol Wart Paint is a topical treatment used to remove common warts, plantar warts (verrucas), and corns. It is applied directly to the affected area of skin to gradually break down and remove the hardened tissue.

    How It Works

Salactol contains two active ingredients — salicylic acid and lactic acid — which work together to soften and break down the tough, thickened skin that makes up a wart, verruca, or corn. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic agent, meaning it loosens and sheds the outer layers of skin, while lactic acid helps to enhance this softening effect. With regular use, the wart or corn gradually peels away from the healthy skin beneath.

    Directions for Use

Salactol Wart Paint is for use on adults and children aged 2 years and over. Before each application, soak the affected area in warm water for 2–3 minutes and gently rub away any dead skin using an emery board or pumice stone. Allow the area to dry completely, then carefully apply a thin layer of the paint to the wart, verruca, or corn using the applicator, avoiding surrounding healthy skin. Allow to dry, then cover with a plaster if desired. Repeat this process once daily. Treatment may be needed for several weeks. Do not use on the face, ano-genital area, or broken skin. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Salactol Wart Paint is applied topically and is not known to interact significantly with most oral medications. However, care should be taken when using other topical skin preparations on or near the same area, as this may increase the risk of skin irritation. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The safety of Salactol Wart Paint during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been fully established. As salicylic acid can be absorbed through the skin, caution is advised, and only small areas should be treated if use is considered necessary. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no known interaction between Salactol Wart Paint and alcohol, as this medicine is applied topically to the skin rather than taken by mouth. The paint formulation does contain collodion (a film-forming base), which is flammable — keep away from naked flames and do not smoke during application.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Salactol Wart Paint is applied to the skin and does not affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. There are no known effects on alertness or concentration from using this topical treatment.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
