Description
Pepto-Bismol 17.5mg/1ml Oral Suspension – 120ml
Pepto-Bismol Oral Suspension is a pink, mint-flavoured liquid medicine used to relieve the symptoms of upset stomach, indigestion, heartburn, nausea, and diarrhoea. It contains bismuth subsalicylate as its active ingredient and is suitable for adults and children aged 16 and over.
⸻
How It Works
Bismuth subsalicylate works in several ways to settle an upset stomach. It has a mild antacid effect to ease indigestion and heartburn, helps to reduce inflammation in the stomach lining, and slows the movement of fluid into the bowel to help relieve diarrhoea. It also has a mild antibacterial action that can help tackle some of the causes of stomach upsets.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and young people aged 16 and over should take 30ml (approximately 525mg of bismuth subsalicylate) every 30 minutes to 1 hour as needed. Do not take more than 8 doses (240ml) in 24 hours. Shake the bottle well before use and measure the dose carefully using the measuring cup provided. Do not use for more than 2 days without speaking to a doctor. This product is not suitable for children under 16 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.
