    Description

Panadol Night Pain – 20 Tablets

Panadol Night Pain is a combination medicine used to relieve mild to moderate pain — such as headaches, backache, and joint pain — that is preventing you from sleeping. It is particularly helpful when discomfort at night is stopping you from getting a good rest.

    How It Works

Panadol Night Pain contains two active ingredients that work together. Paracetamol reduces pain by blocking the signals that tell your brain you are hurting, whilst diphenhydramine hydrochloride is an antihistamine that also causes drowsiness, helping you to fall asleep more easily when you are in pain.

    Directions for Use

Adults aged 18 years and over should take 2 tablets at bedtime. Do not take more than 2 tablets in any 24-hour period, and do not take this medicine for more than 7 consecutive nights without speaking to a doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. This medicine is not suitable for children under 18 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Paracetamol 500 mg per tablet
    • Diphenhydramine hydrochloride 25 mg per tablet

    Possible Side Effects

    • Drowsiness or sedation the following day
    • Dry mouth
    • Blurred vision
    • Difficulty passing urine
    • Dizziness or confusion, particularly in older adults
    • Nausea or upset stomach
    • Allergic reactions (rash, itching, or swelling — rare)

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Children under 18 years of age
    • People with liver or kidney problems
    • People with an enlarged prostate or difficulty passing urine
    • People with glaucoma (raised pressure in the eye)
    • People with epilepsy
    • People who are allergic to paracetamol, diphenhydramine, or any other ingredient in this product
    • People currently taking other products containing paracetamol
    • People who regularly drink large amounts of alcohol

    Interactions

Panadol Night Pain may interact with several medicines, including other sedatives, sleeping tablets, antidepressants (particularly MAOIs), antipsychotics, anticoagulants such as warfarin, and medicines used to treat epilepsy. Do not take this medicine alongside other products containing paracetamol, as this increases the risk of paracetamol overdose. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Diphenhydramine is not recommended during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding. Although paracetamol alone is generally considered safe during pregnancy when used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time, this combination product should be avoided. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

You should avoid drinking alcohol whilst taking Panadol Night Pain. Alcohol can increase the sedative effects of diphenhydramine, leading to excessive drowsiness, and it can also increase the risk of liver damage when combined with paracetamol.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Panadol Night Pain is intended to be taken at bedtime only, as it causes drowsiness. You must not drive or operate machinery after taking this medicine. The sedative effects may still be present the following morning, so please check how you feel before driving or using heavy machinery the next day.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
