    Description

    Nurofen Express 256mg – 16 Caplets

Nurofen Express 256mg Caplets contain ibuprofen, a trusted pain reliever and anti-inflammatory medicine. They are used to relieve mild to moderate pain including headaches, migraine, period pain, dental pain, backache, muscular pain, and to reduce fever.

    How It Works

Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of prostaglandins — natural chemicals in the body that cause pain, swelling, and fever. Nurofen Express is formulated with ibuprofen lysine salt, which is absorbed more quickly than standard ibuprofen, helping to get to work faster.

    Directions for Use

Nurofen Express 256mg Caplets are for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over. The usual dose is 2 caplets (512mg ibuprofen) taken up to 3 times a day as needed. Leave at least 4 hours between doses and do not take more than 6 caplets (1,536mg) in 24 hours. Swallow the caplets whole with a glass of water, preferably with food or milk to reduce the chance of an upset stomach. Do not use for more than 3 days for fever or more than 10 days for pain without speaking to a doctor. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Ibuprofen may interact with a number of medicines, including blood thinners (such as warfarin), aspirin, other NSAIDs, certain antidepressants (SSRIs), lithium, methotrexate, diuretics (water tablets), and medicines for high blood pressure. Taking ibuprofen alongside other pain medicines, including over-the-counter products, should be done with care. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Ibuprofen should not be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby. Use during the first and second trimesters is not recommended unless considered necessary by a doctor. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally not recommended during breastfeeding without medical advice. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Drinking alcohol while taking ibuprofen may increase your risk of stomach irritation and bleeding. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption whilst taking this medicine, particularly if you use it regularly.
