    Description

Nelsons Arnicare Arnica Cream – 50g

Nelsons Arnicare Arnica Cream is a traditional herbal medicine used to help relieve the symptoms of bruises and minor muscle aches on unbroken skin. It contains arnica montana, a well-known plant extract that has been used for generations to soothe bruising and bumps.

    How It Works

The active ingredient, arnica montana tincture, is derived from the arnica plant and is thought to have natural anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. When applied to unbroken skin, it may help to reduce the appearance of bruising and ease localised discomfort. This product is a traditional herbal medicine, registered based on its long-standing use rather than clinical trial evidence.

    Directions for Use

For adults and children aged 1 year and over, apply a small amount of cream gently to the affected area up to 3 times daily. Smooth into the skin and allow to absorb. Do not apply to broken or damaged skin, open wounds, or near the eyes or mucous membranes. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Arnica montana L., tincture (equivalent to 1.5 g of herbal substance per 100 g of cream), dilution 1:20 (equivalent to 5% w/w tincture)

    Possible Side Effects

Nelsons Arnicare Arnica Cream is generally well tolerated, but as with all medicines, side effects are possible. These may include:
    • Skin irritation, redness, or rash at the site of application
    • Allergic skin reactions, such as itching or swelling
    • Contact dermatitis (particularly in individuals sensitive to plants in the Asteraceae/Compositae family)

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

Do not use this cream if:
    • You are allergic to arnica montana or any other member of the Asteraceae/Compositae plant family (e.g., daisies, chrysanthemums)
    • You are allergic to any of the other ingredients in the cream
    • You have broken, damaged, or inflamed skin in the area to be treated
    • The affected area has an open wound or is near the eyes or mouth
    • The child is under 1 year of age

    Interactions

As a topically applied herbal cream, Nelsons Arnicare Arnica Cream is not known to interact with other medicines when used as directed on unbroken skin. However, you should avoid applying other topical preparations to the same area at the same time without seeking advice first. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

There is limited safety data available for the use of arnica cream during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
