    Description

    Moviprep Orange – 4 Sachets

Moviprep Orange is an orange-flavoured bowel preparation solution used to completely empty the bowel before a medical procedure such as a colonoscopy or surgery. It works as a powerful laxative to ensure the bowel is thoroughly cleansed.

    How It Works

Moviprep Orange contains macrogol (polyethylene glycol), which works by drawing water into the bowel and keeping it there. This softens and loosens the contents of the bowel, causing it to empty fully. The electrolytes (sodium chloride, sodium sulphate, and potassium chloride) in the solution help maintain your body’s salt and water balance during the process.

    Directions for Use

Moviprep Orange is intended for adults aged 18 and over. The 4-sachet pack provides a full treatment course. Each litre of solution is made by mixing one Sachet A and one Sachet B together in the supplied container, then topping up with water to the 1-litre mark. The full treatment involves drinking 2 litres of Moviprep solution (2 litres on the evening before your procedure, or 1 litre the evening before and 1 litre on the morning of the procedure, as directed by your doctor). You should also drink at least 1 additional litre of clear fluid during preparation. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Children under 18 years of age
    • People with a blocked or perforated bowel (bowel obstruction)
    • People with stomach paralysis (gastric retention)
    • People with a known allergy to macrogol or any other ingredient in Moviprep
    • People with phenylketonuria (PKU) — the orange flavour variant contains aspartame
    • People with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency
    • People with serious kidney problems (unless under direct medical supervision)

    Interactions

Moviprep may reduce the absorption of oral medicines taken within one hour before starting the preparation, so other medications should ideally not be taken during this window. Medicines that are particularly time-sensitive (such as anti-epileptics, contraceptive pills, or heart medications) should be discussed with your doctor before starting bowel preparation. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

There is limited data on the use of Moviprep during pregnancy; it should only be used if clearly necessary and under medical supervision. It is not known whether the ingredients pass into breast milk in significant amounts. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no known direct interaction between Moviprep and alcohol. However, alcohol should be avoided during bowel preparation as it can contribute to dehydration, which may worsen side effects such as dizziness and electrolyte imbalance.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Moviprep is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery directly. However, as you may need to stay close to a toilet during treatment, it is advisable to avoid driving until the preparation is complete and your bowel movements have settled.

    Storage

Store the unopened sachets below 25°C in a dry place. Once the solution has been made up, it should be used within 24 hours and kept in the refrigerator — do not freeze. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
