Description
Loratadine 10mg Hayfever & Allergy Relief – 60 Tablets
Loratadine 10mg tablets are a non-drowsy antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever and other allergies, including sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, runny nose, and skin reactions such as hives and itching. Each pack contains 60 tablets, providing up to two months of daily allergy relief.
⸻
How It Works
Loratadine works by blocking histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is a natural chemical released during an allergic reaction that causes symptoms like sneezing, itching, and a runny nose. By blocking histamine from attaching to its receptors, loratadine helps to reduce and relieve these allergy symptoms. It is classed as a second-generation antihistamine, meaning it is less likely to cause drowsiness than older antihistamines.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and children aged 12 years and over should take one 10mg tablet once a day. The tablet can be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a drink of water. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

⸻
Interactions
Loratadine may interact with certain medicines, including some antifungals (such as ketoconazole), certain antibiotics (such as erythromycin), and medicines that affect the liver’s ability to process drugs. Some medicines may increase the levels of loratadine in your blood, which could increase the risk of side effects. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
The safety of loratadine during pregnancy has not been fully established, and it should only be used if considered necessary by a healthcare professional. Loratadine passes into breast milk in small amounts, so caution is advised during breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Although loratadine is classified as a non-drowsy antihistamine, drinking alcohol while taking it may increase the risk of drowsiness. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption whilst taking this medicine.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Loratadine is a non-drowsy antihistamine and is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or use machinery in most people. However, a small number of people may experience drowsiness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery if you feel affected.
⸻
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
