    Description

Lemsip Max Day & Night Cold & Flu Relief – 16 Capsules

Lemsip Max Day & Night Cold & Flu Relief capsules are designed to tackle the symptoms of cold and flu around the clock. The pack contains 12 day capsules to keep you going during the day and 4 night capsules to help you rest at night.

    How It Works

The day capsules contain paracetamol to relieve pain and reduce fever, phenylephrine hydrochloride to help clear a blocked nose, and caffeine to help you feel more alert. The night capsules swap caffeine for promethazine hydrochloride, an antihistamine that helps relieve cold symptoms and promotes a more restful night’s sleep.

    Directions for Use

This medicine is for adults and young people aged 16 and over. During the day, take 2 day capsules every 4 to 6 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 4 doses (8 day capsules) in 24 hours. At night, take 2 night capsules at bedtime. Do not exceed the stated dose. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Children under 16 years of age
    • Anyone allergic to paracetamol, phenylephrine, promethazine, caffeine, or any other ingredient in this product
    • People taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have taken them in the last 14 days
    • People with severe high blood pressure or severe heart disease
    • People with a condition called phaeochromocytoma (a type of adrenal gland tumour)
    • Anyone currently taking other paracetamol-containing medicines
    • People with severe liver or kidney problems

    Interactions

This medicine may interact with other medicines, including antidepressants (particularly MAOIs and tricyclics), other cold and flu remedies containing paracetamol, blood thinners such as warfarin, medicines for high blood pressure, and sedatives or sleeping tablets. Caffeine in the day capsules may interact with other stimulants, and promethazine in the night capsules may enhance the sedative effects of other medicines. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the presence of phenylephrine, caffeine, and promethazine. Paracetamol alone is generally considered the preferred pain reliever during pregnancy, but the combination of ingredients in this product means it should be avoided. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine. Alcohol can increase the risk of liver damage when combined with paracetamol, and it can also enhance the sedative effects of promethazine in the night capsules, making you feel excessively drowsy.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

The night capsules contain promethazine, which can cause significant drowsiness and may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery — do not drive or use machinery after taking the night capsules. The day capsules contain caffeine and are less likely to cause drowsiness, but if you feel dizzy or unwell, avoid driving until you feel better.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
