    Ibuprofen 200mg – 48 Tablets

Ibuprofen 200mg Tablets are a trusted, non-prescription painkiller and anti-inflammatory used to relieve a wide range of everyday aches and pains. They are suitable for treating headaches, migraines, toothache, back pain, period pain, cold and flu symptoms, muscular aches, and pain from sprains and strains.

    How It Works

Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of prostaglandins — natural chemicals in the body that cause pain, swelling, and fever — helping to reduce discomfort and inflammation at the source.

    Directions for Use

Adults and young people aged 12 years and over: take 1 or 2 tablets (200mg–400mg) up to three times a day as needed. Leave at least 4 hours between doses and do not exceed 3 doses (1,200mg) in 24 hours. Take tablets with or after food, or with a glass of milk, to reduce the chance of stomach upset. Do not give to children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Ibuprofen may interact with a number of medicines, including blood thinners (such as warfarin), aspirin, other NSAIDs, antidepressants (SSRIs), blood pressure medicines, diuretics (water tablets), lithium, and methotrexate. Taking ibuprofen alongside these medicines may increase the risk of side effects or reduce effectiveness. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Ibuprofen should not be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby. It is generally not recommended during the first and second trimesters either unless advised by a doctor. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts, but short-term use at the recommended dose is generally considered low risk during breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Drinking alcohol while taking ibuprofen can increase the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption whilst taking this medicine, particularly if you need to take it regularly.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Ibuprofen tablets are not generally expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience dizziness or any other side effects that impair your alertness, avoid driving or operating machinery until you feel well again.
