Description
Glycerol 1g Suppositories 12 Pack (Brand May Vary)
Glycerol suppositories are a gentle and effective treatment for constipation, providing reliable relief when you need it most. Each suppository contains 1g of glycerol, an osmotic laxative that works locally in the rectum to stimulate bowel movements. This 12-pack provides convenient, fast-acting relief from occasional constipation, making them an essential addition to your medicine cabinet. Suitable for adults and children over 12 years, these suppositories offer a practical solution when oral laxatives are not suitable or when rapid relief is required.
How It Works
Glycerol suppositories work as an osmotic laxative by drawing water into the rectum, which softens the stool and stimulates the natural urge to have a bowel movement. The glycerol also has a mild irritant effect on the rectal lining, which helps to trigger the defecation reflex. This dual action typically produces results within 15-30 minutes of insertion, making it one of the fastest-acting treatments for constipation relief.
Directions for Use
Adults and children over 12 years: Insert one suppository into the rectum when required. Do not use more than one suppository in 24 hours unless directed by your pharmacist or doctor.
How to insert: Remove the suppository from the wrapper. Lie on your side and gently insert the suppository into the rectum, pointed end first, pushing it in as far as is comfortable. Remain lying down for a few minutes to prevent the suppository from slipping out. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after use.
If you do not have a bowel movement within one hour, consult your pharmacist or doctor. Do not use for more than one week without seeking medical advice.
Active Ingredients
Each suppository contains 1g of glycerol as the active ingredient. The suppository base contains solidifying agents that allow the suppository to melt at body temperature, releasing the glycerol for effective action.
