    Clarityn Allergy 10mg – 30 Tablets

Clarityn Allergy 10mg Tablets contain loratadine, a non-drowsy antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of hayfever and other allergies, such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and skin reactions like hives and itching.

    How It Works

Loratadine works by blocking histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is a natural chemical released during an allergic reaction that causes symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and a runny nose. By blocking histamine, loratadine helps to reduce and relieve these symptoms without causing significant drowsiness in most people.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 years and over should take one 10mg tablet once daily. The tablet can be taken with or without food. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. Clarityn is not recommended for children under 2 years of age; refer to the patient information leaflet for full details on use in children aged 2 to 12 years. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Loratadine 10mg per tablet

    Possible Side Effects

    • Headache
    • Drowsiness (although less common than with older antihistamines)
    • Dry mouth
    • Fatigue or tiredness
    • Nausea
    • Rash or skin reactions (uncommon)

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Anyone who is allergic to loratadine or any of the other ingredients in this product
    • Children under 2 years of age
    • People with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption (refer to the patient information leaflet for full details)
    • People with severe liver or kidney problems should seek medical advice before use

    Interactions

Loratadine may interact with certain medicines, including some antibiotics (such as erythromycin), antifungals (such as ketoconazole), and medicines that affect the liver’s ability to process drugs. Some medicines may increase the level of loratadine in your blood, which could increase the risk of side effects. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The safety of loratadine during pregnancy has not been fully established. Loratadine passes into breast milk and its use during breastfeeding is generally not recommended. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Although Clarityn is classed as a non-drowsy antihistamine, drinking alcohol while taking loratadine may increase the risk of drowsiness. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption whilst taking this medicine.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Clarityn is considered a non-drowsy antihistamine and is less likely to cause drowsiness than older antihistamines. However, a small number of people may still experience drowsiness or dizziness. You should assess how this medicine affects you before driving or operating heavy machinery.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
