    Description

Benadryl Allergy Relief Plus Decongestant Capsules 12 Capsules

Benadryl Allergy Relief Plus Decongestant Capsules are a combination medicine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itchy eyes, and a runny nose, while also helping to clear a blocked, congested nose. They are suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over who suffer from hay fever, pet allergies, dust mite allergies, and other allergic conditions.

    How It Works

These capsules contain two active ingredients that work together. Acrivastine is a fast-acting antihistamine that blocks histamine — the chemical your body releases during an allergic reaction — helping to reduce sneezing, itching, and a runny nose. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that narrows the blood vessels in the nasal lining, reducing swelling and relieving a blocked nose so you can breathe more easily.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 and over: take one capsule up to three times a day. Capsules should be swallowed whole with water. Do not take more than three capsules in 24 hours. This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Benadryl Allergy Relief Plus Decongestant Capsules may interact with a number of medicines. Do not take alongside monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of stopping them. Use with caution alongside other medicines that affect blood pressure, tricyclic antidepressants, beta-blockers, or other sympathomimetic medicines (such as other decongestants). Taking this medicine with other sedating antihistamines or medicines that cause drowsiness may increase the sedative effect. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Benadryl Allergy Relief Plus Decongestant Capsules are not recommended during pregnancy as pseudoephedrine may affect blood flow and has not been proven safe in pregnancy. This medicine should also be avoided during breastfeeding, as both acrivastine and pseudoephedrine may pass into breast milk. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

You should avoid drinking alcohol while taking Benadryl Allergy Relief Plus Decongestant Capsules. Alcohol can enhance the sedative effects of acrivastine, increasing drowsiness and impairing your ability to react quickly.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Although acrivastine is classed as a non-drowsy antihistamine, it can still cause drowsiness in some people. Pseudoephedrine may also cause dizziness in some individuals. You should not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medicine affects you. If you feel drowsy or dizzy, do not drive or use tools or machines.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
