Indapamide is a thiazide-like diuretic (water tablet) used to lower high blood pressure.
Brands and strengths
Indapamide is the name of the active ingredient. In the UK it is sold as generic indapamide and under brand names including Natrilix, Alkapamid and Varbim — all contain the same active ingredient and work the same way. Common strengths:

How to take indapamide
Usually taken once a day in the morning, with or without food. Taking it in the morning avoids needing the toilet at night. Always follow your prescriber’s instructions (BNF).
Side effects
