Description
Vertigon 25mg – 28 Tablets
Vertigon contains promethazine teoclate 25mg, an antihistamine used to prevent and relieve symptoms of travel sickness and vertigo, including nausea, dizziness, and vomiting.
⸻
How It Works
Promethazine teoclate belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. It works by blocking histamine receptors in the brain and inner ear, reducing the signals that cause nausea, dizziness, and vomiting associated with motion sickness and vertigo.
⸻
Directions for Use
For travel sickness in adults and children aged 10 years and over: take one tablet (25mg) the night before travel, then one tablet on the morning of travel. For vertigo in adults: the usual dose is one tablet (25mg) two to three times daily. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water and can be taken with or without food. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

It may also enhance the effects of alcohol. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
The use of promethazine teoclate is generally not recommended during pregnancy, particularly near the time of delivery, as it may affect the newborn. It may also pass into breast milk and could cause drowsiness in a breastfed baby. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
You should avoid drinking alcohol whilst taking Vertigon. Alcohol can significantly increase the sedative effects of promethazine teoclate, making drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired coordination much worse.
⸻

Vertigon can cause significant drowsiness and impaired concentration, which may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery safely. You should not drive or use machinery until you know how this medicine affects you. The sedative effects may be worsened by alcohol.
