Solpadeine Plus Soluble Tablets are an effervescent pain relief medicine that dissolve in water for fast, effective relief of headaches, migraines, dental pain, period pain, rheumatic pain, and muscular aches. Each pack contains 24 soluble tablets.

How It Works

Solpadeine Plus contains three active ingredients that work together to relieve pain. Paracetamol blocks pain signals and reduces fever, codeine phosphate is an opioid painkiller that strengthens the pain-relieving effect, and caffeine helps to enhance the overall effectiveness of the combination. Together, they provide more powerful relief than paracetamol alone.

Directions for Use

Adults and young people aged 16 and over: dissolve 2 tablets in a glass of water and drink. This dose may be taken up to 4 times a day, leaving at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 8 tablets in any 24-hour period. Do not take for more than 3 days without speaking to a doctor. This medicine is not suitable for children under 16 years of age. Possible Side Effects

• Nausea or vomiting
• Constipation
• Drowsiness or dizziness
• Skin rash or allergic reactions
• Dependence or tolerance with prolonged use (due to codeine content)
• Headache with overuse of painkillers (medication overuse headache)

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

• Children under 16 years of age
• People who are allergic to paracetamol, codeine, caffeine, or any other ingredient in the tablets
• People with liver or kidney problems
• People who are known to be “ultra-rapid metabolisers” of codeine (a genetic variation that increases the risk of serious side effects)
• People with breathing difficulties or respiratory depression
• Breastfeeding mothers (codeine can pass into breast milk)
• People who have recently had bowel surgery or suffer from paralytic ileus

Interactions

Solpadeine Plus may interact with other medicines, including other products containing paracetamol, other opioid painkillers, medicines that cause drowsiness (such as sleeping tablets, antidepressants, or antihistamines), blood-thinning medicines (such as warfarin), and medicines used to treat epilepsy or tuberculosis. Caffeine may also interact with stimulant medicines. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Solpadeine Plus is not recommended during pregnancy, as codeine and caffeine may pose risks to the developing baby. It must not be used during breastfeeding, as codeine can pass into breast milk and may cause serious harm to a nursing infant. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Alcohol

You should avoid drinking alcohol while taking Solpadeine Plus. Alcohol increases the risk of liver damage when taken with paracetamol and can intensify the sedative effects of codeine, making drowsiness and dizziness significantly worse.

Driving and Operating Machinery

Solpadeine Plus contains codeine, which can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired concentration. You should not drive, operate heavy machinery, or perform any activity requiring alertness until you know how this medicine affects you. If affected, do not drive.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the tablets in their original packaging. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
