Slow Sodium 600mg tablets contain sodium chloride (salt) in a slow-release form, used to treat or prevent low sodium levels in the blood (hyponatraemia), including conditions such as heat exhaustion and excessive sweating.

How It Works

Sodium is an essential mineral that helps regulate fluid balance and supports normal nerve and muscle function. When sodium levels in the body drop — for example, due to heavy sweating, certain medical conditions, or low dietary intake — supplementing with sodium chloride helps restore the body’s normal balance. The slow-release tablet design means sodium is released gradually in the stomach, which can help reduce stomach irritation.

Directions for Use

The usual dose for adults is 4 to 20 tablets daily, taken in divided doses, swallowed whole with a full glass of water. • People with heart failure or reduced heart function

• Anyone with a known allergy to sodium chloride or any other ingredient in the tablet

Interactions

Slow Sodium may interact with medicines used to treat high blood pressure, heart conditions, or kidney problems, including diuretics (water tablets) and corticosteroids. Taking additional sodium alongside certain medicines may affect their effectiveness or increase the risk of side effects such as fluid retention or raised blood pressure.
