Senokot Max Strength Tablets contain a high-strength dose of senna, a natural laxative used to relieve occasional constipation in adults. They provide effective, gentle relief and are designed to help restore normal bowel function.

How It Works

Senna is a stimulant laxative derived from the senna plant. It works by stimulating the muscles in the walls of the bowel, encouraging them to contract and move stools along more quickly. This typically produces a bowel movement within 8 to 12 hours of taking the tablet.

Directions for Use

For adults and children aged 12 years and over: take 2 tablets at bedtime. Do not exceed 2 tablets in 24 hours. Senokot Max Strength Tablets are not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Do not use for more than 5 consecutive days without speaking to a doctor. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.

• Senna leaf dry extract equivalent to 15 mg sennosides per tablet

Possible Side Effects

• Abdominal cramps or discomfort
• Bloating or wind
• Diarrhoea
• Nausea
• Discolouration of urine (may appear yellowish-brown) — this is harmless
• Skin rash or allergic reaction (rare)

Who Should Not Use This Product

• Children under 12 years of age
• People with a known allergy to senna or any other ingredient in the product
• People with intestinal blockage (ileus) or bowel obstruction
• People with inflammatory bowel conditions such as Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis
• People experiencing unexplained abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting
• People with severe dehydration or electrolyte imbalance
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women (seek medical advice before use)

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
