Regaine for Women Regular Strength Liquid is a topical hair loss treatment containing minoxidil, designed specifically for women experiencing hereditary hair thinning or loss (also known as female pattern hair loss). It helps to stimulate hair regrowth and slow down further shedding with regular, twice-daily use.

How It Works

The active ingredient, minoxidil, works by widening the blood vessels around hair follicles, increasing the supply of blood, oxygen, and nutrients to the scalp. This helps to revitalise shrunken hair follicles, extend the active growing phase of hair, and encourage new hair growth over time. Results are typically seen after 16 weeks of consistent use.

Directions for Use

Apply 1 ml of the liquid directly to the affected area of the scalp twice daily — once in the morning and once at night. Part the hair to expose the scalp and apply using the applicator provided, then gently spread across the thinning area. Do not exceed 2 ml in any 24-hour period. This product is intended for use by women aged 18 to 65 years only. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Possible Side Effects

• Scalp irritation, itching, or redness at the application site
• Unwanted facial hair growth (if the product accidentally contacts the face)
• Temporary increased hair shedding in the first few weeks of use
• Dry or flaking scalp
• Headache
• Rapid or irregular heartbeat (rare)
• Dizziness or light-headedness (rare)

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

• Women under 18 or over 65 years of age
• Anyone with a known allergy to minoxidil, propylene glycol, or any other ingredient in this product
• Those with a shaved or completely bald scalp
• Anyone with scalp conditions such as psoriasis, sunburn, or broken/irritated skin at the application site
• Those with heart disease or other cardiovascular conditions
• Anyone whose hair loss has an unknown cause (hair loss not due to hereditary female pattern baldness)

Interactions

Topical minoxidil is generally not associated with significant interactions when used as directed on the scalp. However, caution is advised if you are also taking medications that lower blood pressure, as there is a theoretical risk of an additive effect. Other topical scalp products should not be used at the same time as Regaine unless advised by a healthcare professional. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Regaine for Women Regular Strength Liquid should not be used during pregnancy, as minoxidil may be harmful to an unborn baby. It should also not be used while breastfeeding, as minoxidil may pass into breast milk. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Alcohol

There is no known interaction between topical minoxidil and alcohol. However, alcohol can cause dehydration and may contribute to scalp dryness, which could affect tolerability of this product. If you have any concerns, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Driving and Operating Machinery

Regaine for Women Regular Strength Liquid is a topical product and is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery when used as directed. If you experience any dizziness or feel unwell after use, avoid driving until you feel better.

Storage

Store below 25°C, away from heat and direct sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. As the liquid contains alcohol, keep away from open flames or naked lights. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
