    Description

    Phenergan Night Time 25mg – 14 Tablets

Phenergan Night Time 25mg tablets are used as a short-term aid for adults who are having trouble sleeping (insomnia). Each tablet contains 25mg of promethazine hydrochloride, an antihistamine that helps you fall asleep more easily and enjoy a more restful night.

    How It Works

Promethazine hydrochloride belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. It works by blocking histamine receptors in the brain, which has a sedative (sleep-inducing) effect, helping you to feel drowsy and drift off to sleep more naturally.

    Directions for Use

Adults aged 16 years and over: take one tablet (25mg) at bedtime. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. This medicine is not suitable for children under 16 years of age. Phenergan Night Time should only be used for short-term sleep difficulties and is not recommended for use on more than 7 consecutive nights. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Promethazine may interact with several types of medicines, including other sedatives, sleeping tablets, antidepressants, antipsychotics, medicines for anxiety, certain antihistamines, and medicines that affect heart rhythm. It may also enhance the effects of alcohol and other substances that cause drowsiness. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Phenergan Night Time is not recommended during pregnancy as promethazine may affect the unborn baby, particularly near the time of birth. Promethazine can pass into breast milk and may cause drowsiness in a breastfed baby, so it should be avoided while breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

You should not drink alcohol while taking Phenergan Night Time. Alcohol increases the sedative effects of promethazine, which can lead to excessive drowsiness, impaired judgement, and in some cases can be dangerous.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Phenergan Night Time causes significant drowsiness and may still affect you the morning after you take it. Do not drive, cycle, or operate machinery until you are sure you are fully alert and any sedative effects have completely worn off. This medicine can seriously impair your reaction times and ability to concentrate.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
