Description
Paracetamol Soluble Tablets – 100 x 500mg (Brand May Vary)
Paracetamol Soluble Tablets 500mg are a fast-dissolving, easy-to-take form of paracetamol used to relieve mild to moderate pain — such as headaches, toothache, period pain, and backache — and to reduce fever (high temperature).
⸻
How It Works
Paracetamol works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in the body called prostaglandins, which signal pain and trigger fever. By reducing these signals, paracetamol helps to relieve discomfort and bring down a raised temperature. The soluble form dissolves quickly in water, allowing the medicine to be absorbed rapidly into the body.
⸻
Directions for Use
Dissolve one to two tablets in a glass of water and drink immediately. Do not take more than 8 tablets (4,000mg) in any 24-hour period. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Adults and children aged 16 and over: 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours as needed. This product is not suitable for children under 16 years of age without medical advice. Always read the product information before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻
Active Ingredients
• Paracetamol 500mg per tablet
⸻
Possible Side Effects
Paracetamol is generally well tolerated when used as directed. Side effects are uncommon but may include:
• Allergic reactions such as skin rash or itching
• Swelling of the face, lips, or throat (rare — seek immediate medical help)
• Low blood pressure or flushing if given by injection (not relevant to oral use)
• Blood disorders or liver problems with prolonged or excessive use (rare)
If you experience any unexpected effects, stop using this product and seek advice from your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻
Who Should Not Use This Product
Do not use these tablets if you:
• Are allergic to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients
• Already take other medicines containing paracetamol (risk of overdose)
• Have severe liver or kidney disease
• Drink more than 14 units of alcohol per week (speak to your doctor first)
• Are under 16 years of age without specific medical advice
⸻
Interactions
Paracetamol can interact with several medicines, including warfarin (increased bleeding risk with regular use), certain epilepsy medicines such as carbamazepine and phenytoin, and medicines that affect how quickly the stomach empties (e.g. metoclopramide). Taking other products containing paracetamol at the same time can lead to an accidental overdose. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Paracetamol has been used widely during pregnancy and breastfeeding and is generally considered the first-choice painkiller when one is needed. However, it should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest time possible. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the tablets in their original packaging to protect them from humidity. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
