Oraldene (Hexetidine) Antibacterial Mouthwash – 200ml

Oraldene is an antibacterial and antifungal mouthwash containing hexetidine, used to help treat and prevent infections in the mouth and throat, including gum disease, mouth ulcers, oral thrush, and bad breath.

    How It Works

Hexetidine works by killing bacteria and fungi in the mouth and throat that can cause infections and bad breath. It sticks to the surfaces inside the mouth, giving it a longer-lasting effect even after you have finished rinsing. This helps to reduce the build-up of harmful microorganisms and supports overall oral hygiene.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 6 years and over should rinse with 15ml (approximately one tablespoon) of undiluted mouthwash for 30 seconds, two to three times daily. Do not swallow the mouthwash. It is best used after brushing your teeth. Oraldene is not recommended for children under 6 years of age. Always read the product information before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    • People with ulcerative gingivitis or dry socket (consult a dentist instead)
    • Anyone who has difficulty controlling their swallowing reflex

    Interactions

No significant interactions with other medicines have been widely reported for hexetidine mouthwash when used as directed, as it is applied locally in the mouth and not intended to be swallowed. However, if you are using any other mouth rinses or oral treatments, use them at different times to avoid diluting the effect of each product. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

There is limited information available on the safety of hexetidine mouthwash during pregnancy and breastfeeding. As the product is used in the mouth and not swallowed, systemic absorption is considered minimal, but caution is still advised. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
