Description
Oilatum Emollient – 500ml
Oilatum Emollient is a soap-free, moisturising bath additive used to soothe and hydrate dry, sensitive, and itchy skin. It is particularly suitable for people with conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and ichthyosis, and can be used by adults and children of all ages, including babies.
⸻
How It Works
Oilatum Emollient contains light liquid paraffin, which disperses throughout the bath water and coats the skin in a fine, protective layer of oil. This helps to lock in moisture, reduce water loss from the skin, and relieve dryness and itching. Unlike soap, it cleanses gently without stripping the skin’s natural oils.
⸻
Directions for Use
Add the recommended amount to a bath of warm water, disperse well, and soak for 10–20 minutes. Gently pat the skin dry afterwards. Typical amounts are as follows: for adults and children over 12, add 2–4 capfuls (approximately 30–60 ml) to a full bath; for children aged 1–12 years, add 1–2 capfuls (approximately 15–30 ml); for infants and babies, add ½–1 capful (approximately 7.5–15 ml) to a small bath. It may also be used as a wash by applying a small amount to wet skin. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Interactions
Oilatum Emollient is applied to the skin as a bath additive and is not expected to interact significantly with other medicines. However, it is worth noting that emollients can affect the absorption of other topical products applied to the skin at the same time. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Oilatum Emollient is considered suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as it is applied externally and absorption through the skin is minimal. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
