Nurofen Pain Relief 256mg Tablets – 16 Pack
Nurofen Pain Relief 256mg Tablets contain ibuprofen, a trusted anti-inflammatory painkiller used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever. They are suitable for a range of conditions including headaches, period pain, dental pain, backache, rheumatic and muscular pain, and the symptoms of colds and flu.
⸻
How It Works
Each tablet contains 200mg of ibuprofen (as 256mg sodium ibuprofen), which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Ibuprofen works by blocking the production of prostaglandins — natural chemicals in the body that cause pain, swelling, and fever — helping to bring fast, effective relief at the source of discomfort.
⸻
Directions for Use
For adults and young people aged 12 years and over: take 1 or 2 tablets with water, up to three times a day as needed. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 6 tablets in any 24-hour period. Take with or after food to reduce the chance of stomach upset. Do not use for more than 3 days for fever or more than 10 days for pain without speaking to a doctor. This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Interactions
Ibuprofen may interact with a number of medicines, including blood thinners (such as warfarin), aspirin, other NSAIDs, certain antidepressants (SSRIs), blood pressure medicines, diuretics (water tablets), lithium, methotrexate, and corticosteroids. Taking ibuprofen alongside these medicines may increase the risk of side effects or reduce their effectiveness. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Ibuprofen should not be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy (months 7–9) as it may harm the unborn baby. It should be used with caution in the first and second trimesters and only if clearly necessary. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts, but it is generally considered safe to use while breastfeeding at the recommended dose; however, you should always seek guidance first. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
You should avoid drinking alcohol while taking ibuprofen, as combining the two can increase the risk of stomach irritation and bleeding. If you choose to drink, keep within low-risk guidelines and speak to your PillSorted pharmacist if you are unsure.

Nurofen Pain Relief Tablets are not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience dizziness or any other side effects that affect your alertness, do not drive or use machinery until these effects have passed.
