Nurofen Maximum Strength Migraine Pain 684mg – 12 Caplets
Nurofen Maximum Strength Migraine Pain 684mg Caplets are a pharmacy medicine specifically formulated to relieve migraine headaches, including the associated pain, fever, and inflammation. Each caplet contains a higher dose of ibuprofen, making it suitable for the more intense pain that often accompanies migraines.
⸻
How It Works
Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of prostaglandins — natural chemicals in the body that trigger pain, swelling, and fever — helping to reduce migraine pain and associated symptoms relatively quickly.
⸻
Directions for Use
For adults and young people aged 12 years and over: take 2 caplets with water at the first sign of a migraine. Do not take more than 2 caplets in any 24-hour period. These caplets are not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Do not take for longer than 24 hours for migraine without speaking to a doctor. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Interactions
Ibuprofen may interact with a number of medicines, including blood thinners (such as warfarin), aspirin, other NSAIDs, certain antidepressants (SSRIs), blood pressure medicines, diuretics (water tablets), lithium, and methotrexate. Taking ibuprofen alongside these medicines may increase the risk of side effects or reduce their effectiveness. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Ibuprofen should not be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy (from 28 weeks), as it may harm the unborn baby. Use during the first and second trimesters is generally not recommended unless advised by a doctor. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts, and breastfeeding is not recommended while using this medicine without medical guidance. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Drinking alcohol while taking ibuprofen may increase the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption whilst taking this medicine, particularly if you have a sensitive stomach or are taking it regularly.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Nurofen Maximum Strength Migraine Pain Caplets are not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, migraine itself can impair concentration and reaction times, so take care until you feel fully recovered.
