Description
Nicorette 4mg Fruitfusion Gum – 105 Pieces
Nicorette 4mg Fruitfusion Gum is a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) used to help you stop smoking. It is designed for people who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day, or for those who have tried the 2mg strength and need a higher dose to manage cravings.
⸻
How It Works
Each piece of gum contains nicotine polacrilex, which releases nicotine slowly as you chew. This nicotine is absorbed through the lining of your mouth and enters your bloodstream, helping to reduce the cravings and unpleasant withdrawal symptoms — such as irritability, restlessness, and low mood — that can make quitting smoking so difficult. Over time, you gradually reduce the number of pieces you use each day until you no longer need them.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and young people aged 12 and over should use one piece of 4mg gum when they feel the urge to smoke. Use the “chew and rest” technique: chew the gum slowly until you notice a strong taste or tingling sensation, then rest it between your cheek and gum until the taste fades, and then chew again. Repeat this process for approximately 30 minutes. Do not use more than 15 pieces per day. A full course of treatment typically lasts up to 12 weeks, with the number of pieces gradually reduced over time. This gum is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻

⸻
Interactions
Nicotine itself has few direct interactions with other medicines; however, stopping smoking can affect how your body processes certain drugs. Medicines such as theophylline, clozapine, ropinirole, and warfarin may need dose adjustments when you quit smoking, as tobacco smoke (not nicotine) affects the metabolism of these drugs. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Stopping smoking completely is the safest option for you and your baby during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding. If you are struggling to quit without support, nicotine replacement therapy such as this gum is considered preferable to continuing to smoke. However, nicotine does pass into breast milk in small amounts. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
There is no known interaction between Nicorette 4mg Fruitfusion Gum and alcohol. However, bear in mind that drinking alcohol may lower your resolve to quit smoking, so it is worth being mindful of this during your stop-smoking programme.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Nicorette 4mg Fruitfusion Gum is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Dizziness has been reported as a side effect in some users — if you feel dizzy, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until the sensation passes.
⸻
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the gum in its original packaging until ready to use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
