Movelat Relief Cream is a topical medicine used to relieve pain, stiffness, and inflammation associated with conditions such as rheumatism, arthritis, backache, sprains, strains, and sports injuries. It is applied directly to the skin over the affected area for targeted, localised relief.

How It Works

Movelat Relief Cream contains two active ingredients that work together to reduce pain and inflammation. Mucopolysaccharide polysulphate (MPS) helps to reduce inflammation and swelling in the tissues beneath the skin, whilst salicylic acid acts as a mild painkiller and helps to carry the MPS deeper into the skin. Together, they help to ease discomfort and improve movement in the affected area.

Directions for Use

For adults and children aged 12 years and over: apply a small amount of cream (approximately 5–10 cm) to the affected area and gently massage in until absorbed. This can be repeated up to 3–4 times daily. Do not apply to broken, irritated, or infected skin, and avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Wash hands after use unless the hands are the area being treated. Do not use for more than 7 days without seeking medical advice. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Possible Side Effects

• Skin irritation, redness, or itching at the application site
• Rash or hives at the application site
• Burning or stinging sensation on the skin
• Allergic skin reactions (e.g., contact dermatitis)
• Rarely, skin sensitisation with repeated use

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

• Children under 12 years of age
• People who are allergic to salicylates (including aspirin) or any other ingredient in the cream
• People with broken, damaged, infected, or inflamed skin in the area to be treated
• Those with a known sensitivity to heparin or heparinoids
• Do not apply near the eyes, mouth, or on mucous membranes

Interactions

There are no well-established significant drug interactions when Movelat Relief Cream is used as directed on the skin. However, if you are taking anticoagulant medicines (blood thinners such as warfarin), you should use this cream with caution, as the mucopolysaccharide polysulphate component may have a mild blood-thinning effect when absorbed through the skin. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The safety of Movelat Relief Cream during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been fully established. It should be avoided during the first and third trimesters of pregnancy, and should not be applied to large areas of skin or used for prolonged periods. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Alcohol

There is no known interaction between Movelat Relief Cream and alcohol when the cream is used as directed on the skin. No specific precautions regarding alcohol consumption are required for this topical product.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct heat and sunlight. Do not freeze. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
