    Description

    Lumecare Hypromellose Lubricating Eye Drops

Lumecare Hypromellose Lubricating Eye Drops are a sterile eye drop solution used to relieve the symptoms of dry and irritated eyes. They are suitable for adults and children experiencing discomfort due to dry eye syndrome, environmental factors such as wind or air conditioning, or prolonged screen use.

    How It Works

The active ingredient, hypromellose, is a synthetic polymer that mimics the natural tear film on the surface of the eye. When applied, it coats and lubricates the eye, helping to retain moisture, reduce irritation, and restore comfort to dry or tired eyes.

    Directions for Use

For adults and children: instil 1 to 2 drops into the affected eye(s) as needed to relieve dryness and discomfort. Repeat as required throughout the day. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting. Do not touch the tip of the dropper to your eye or any other surface to avoid contamination. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Hypromellose 0.3% w/v

    Possible Side Effects

    • Temporary mild stinging or burning sensation immediately after instillation
    • Temporary blurred vision after application
    • Eye irritation or redness
    • Sticky sensation around the eye
    • Allergic reactions such as itching, swelling, or increased redness (uncommon)

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • People with a known allergy to hypromellose or any other ingredient in the formulation
    • Do not use if the packaging is damaged or the seal is broken before first use
    • Do not use with soft contact lenses unless advised by an eye care professional
    • Not recommended for use in children under 2 years without medical advice

    Interactions

Lumecare Hypromellose Eye Drops are not known to interact significantly with other medicines when used as directed. If you are using any other eye drops or eye ointments, allow at least 5 minutes between applying each product, and always apply ointments last. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Hypromellose eye drops are generally considered safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as systemic absorption is minimal. However, as with all medicines, caution is advised. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no known interaction between Lumecare Hypromellose Eye Drops and alcohol. These drops are applied topically to the eye and have negligible systemic absorption, so alcohol consumption is not expected to affect how this medicine works.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Lumecare Hypromellose Eye Drops may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after application. You should wait until your vision is completely clear before driving or operating machinery. This effect is usually short-lived.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Once opened, discard the bottle after 28 days, even if some product remains, to reduce the risk of infection. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
