    Loratadine 10mg Hayfever & Allergy Relief – 30 Tablets

Loratadine 10mg Hayfever & Allergy Relief tablets are used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever and other allergic conditions, including sneezing, a runny or itchy nose, itchy or watery eyes, and skin reactions such as hives and itching. Each pack contains 30 tablets, providing up to a month’s supply of once-daily allergy relief.

    How It Works

Loratadine is a non-drowsy antihistamine that works by blocking histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is the chemical released during an allergic reaction that causes symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and a runny nose. By blocking histamine, loratadine helps to relieve these symptoms within one hour and provides up to 24 hours of protection with a single daily dose.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 years and over should take one tablet (10mg) by mouth once a day. The tablet can be taken with or without food. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years of age in this tablet form. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Loratadine 10mg per tablet

    Possible Side Effects

    • Headache
    • Feeling tired or drowsy (uncommon but possible)
    • Dry mouth
    • Nausea
    • Stomach upset
    • Skin rash (rare)

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Anyone who is allergic to loratadine or any of the other ingredients in the tablet
    • Children under 12 years of age (this tablet form is not suitable)
    • People with severe liver or kidney problems (seek medical advice first)
    • Anyone already taking another antihistamine medicine without first speaking to a pharmacist or doctor

    Interactions

Loratadine may interact with certain medicines, including ketoconazole, erythromycin, and cimetidine, which can increase the level of loratadine in the blood. Some medicines used for anxiety, epilepsy, or depression may also interact with antihistamines. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Loratadine is not recommended during pregnancy, as there is limited evidence on its safety for unborn babies. It can also pass into breast milk in small amounts, so it should be avoided whilst breastfeeding unless advised otherwise by a healthcare professional. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Although loratadine is classed as a non-drowsy antihistamine, drinking alcohol whilst taking it may increase the risk of drowsiness. It is advisable to avoid alcohol or limit your intake whilst taking this medicine.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Loratadine is considered a non-drowsy antihistamine and is less likely to affect your ability to drive than older antihistamines. However, a small number of people may still feel tired or less alert. If you are affected in this way, do not drive or operate heavy machinery.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
