Imodium Instants – 6 Orodispersible Tablets

Imodium Instants are convenient melt-in-the-mouth tablets used to treat short-term diarrhoea in adults and children aged 12 and over, including diarrhoea associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). They contain loperamide hydrochloride and dissolve on the tongue without the need for water, making them ideal for use on the go.

    How It Works

Imodium Instants contain loperamide hydrochloride, which works by slowing down the movement of the bowel. This allows more time for water and salts to be absorbed from the gut, reducing the frequency of loose stools and helping to restore normal bowel function.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 and over: Take 2 tablets (4 mg) as a starting dose for acute diarrhoea. After each subsequent loose stool, take 1 tablet (2 mg). Do not take more than 4 tablets (8 mg) in 24 hours for IBS-related diarrhoea, or more than 8 tablets (16 mg) in 24 hours for acute diarrhoea. Place the tablet on your tongue and allow it to dissolve — no water is needed. Do not use for more than 48 hours for acute diarrhoea without consulting a doctor. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Loperamide is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy, and caution is advised throughout pregnancy. It should also be avoided whilst breastfeeding, as small amounts may pass into breast milk. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
