    Description

    Ibuprofen 200mg – 16 Tablets

Ibuprofen 200mg Tablets are a trusted over-the-counter painkiller and anti-inflammatory used to relieve a wide range of everyday aches and pains. They are suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over to treat headaches, migraines, toothache, back pain, period pain, muscle and joint pain, cold and flu symptoms, and fever.

    How It Works

Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of natural chemicals in the body called prostaglandins, which are responsible for causing pain, swelling, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin levels, ibuprofen helps to relieve discomfort and bring down inflammation and temperature.

    Directions for Use

Adults and young people aged 12 and over: take 1 to 2 tablets (200mg–400mg) up to three times a day as needed. Leave at least 4 hours between doses and do not take more than 3 tablets (600mg) in 24 hours. Always take ibuprofen with or after food or milk to help protect the stomach. Do not use in children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Taking ibuprofen alongside these medicines may increase the risk of side effects or reduce their effectiveness. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Ibuprofen should be avoided during the third trimester of pregnancy (from 27 weeks) as it may harm the unborn baby. Use during the first and second trimesters should only be considered on the advice of a doctor, as it may also carry some risk. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally considered unsuitable for use while breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Drinking alcohol while taking ibuprofen may increase the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption whilst taking this medicine. If you are concerned, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist for personalised advice.
