Description
Hydrocortisone 1% w/w Ointment – 15g (Brand May Vary)
Hydrocortisone 1% w/w Ointment is a mild topical corticosteroid used to relieve the redness, itching, and inflammation associated with skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, insect bites, and mild allergic reactions.
⸻
How It Works
Hydrocortisone belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids. It works by reducing the activity of the body’s immune response in the skin, which calms inflammation and eases redness, swelling, and itching. The ointment base helps to moisturise and soften dry or scaly skin while delivering the active ingredient.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and children aged 10 years and over: apply a thin layer to the affected area of skin once or twice daily. Do not use for more than 7 days without speaking to a doctor. Avoid applying to the face unless directed by a doctor. Do not cover the treated area with an airtight dressing unless advised by a healthcare professional. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
