Description
Gaviscon Advance Liquid Peppermint – 300ml
Gaviscon Advance Liquid Peppermint is an alginate-based medicine used to relieve the symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux, including heartburn, acid indigestion, and the discomfort caused by stomach acid rising into the oesophagus (food pipe). It is available in a refreshing peppermint flavour and is suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over.
⸻
How It Works
Gaviscon Advance works differently to traditional antacids. When you swallow it, the sodium alginate and potassium bicarbonate react with the acid in your stomach to form a thick, gel-like raft that floats on top of the stomach contents. This raft acts as a physical barrier, helping to prevent stomach acid from rising back up into the oesophagus and causing the uncomfortable symptoms of reflux and heartburn.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and children aged 12 years and over should take 5–10 ml (1–2 teaspoons) after meals and at bedtime, up to four times daily. The liquid should be taken after eating and before going to bed. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻
Active Ingredients
