    Description

    Flarin 200mg Capsules – 12capsule

Flarin 200mg Capsules contain ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve mild to moderate pain, reduce inflammation, and lower fever. They are commonly used for conditions such as joint pain, backache, period pain, dental pain, headaches, and muscular aches.

    How It Works

Ibuprofen works by blocking the production of prostaglandins — natural chemicals in the body that cause pain, swelling, and inflammation. By reducing prostaglandin levels, ibuprofen helps to ease discomfort and reduce swelling at the site of injury or irritation. Flarin uses a lipid (fat-based) formulation which is designed to be gentler on the stomach compared to standard ibuprofen tablets.

    Directions for Use

Adults and young people aged 12 years and over: take 1 to 2 capsules up to three times a day as needed, leaving at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 6 capsules (1200mg) in 24 hours. Swallow the capsules whole with a glass of water. The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest time necessary. Flarin is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Flarin may interact with blood-thinning medicines (such as warfarin), other NSAIDs or aspirin, certain antidepressants (SSRIs), blood pressure medicines, diuretics (water tablets), lithium, methotrexate, and corticosteroids. Taking ibuprofen alongside other NSAIDs or aspirin increases the risk of stomach bleeding and should be avoided. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Flarin should not be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy (from week 28 onwards) as it may harm the unborn baby or cause complications during delivery. Use during the first and second trimesters should be avoided unless advised by a doctor. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts; breastfeeding mothers should seek advice before use. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Drinking alcohol while taking ibuprofen can increase the risk of stomach irritation and bleeding. It is advisable to limit or avoid alcohol whilst taking Flarin, particularly if you are taking it regularly or at higher doses.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Flarin is not generally expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience dizziness or any other side effect that affects your alertness, you should not drive or use heavy machinery until these effects have passed.
