    Description

    Eurax HC Cream – 15g

Eurax HC Cream is a topical cream used to relieve itching and inflammation caused by skin conditions such as contact dermatitis, insect bites, mild eczema, and reactions to soaps, detergents, or jewellery. It contains two active ingredients — crotamiton and hydrocortisone — working together to soothe irritated skin.

    How It Works

Crotamiton works directly on the skin to relieve itching (it has antipruritic properties), while hydrocortisone is a mild corticosteroid that calms redness, swelling, and inflammation. Together, they tackle both the itch and the underlying skin irritation to provide fast, effective relief.

    Directions for Use

For adults and children aged 10 years and over, apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area two to three times daily. Gently rub the cream into the skin and wash your hands after use. Do not apply to broken skin, the face, or near the eyes unless directed by a doctor. This cream should not be used for more than seven days without medical advice. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Crotamiton 100 mg/g (10% w/w)
    • Hydrocortisone 2.5 mg/g (0.25% w/w)

    Possible Side Effects

    • Skin irritation, stinging, or burning at the application site
    • Redness or rash where the cream is applied
    • Thinning of the skin with prolonged use
    • Allergic skin reactions (e.g., contact dermatitis)
    • Rarely, skin discolouration or stretch marks with extended use
If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Children under 10 years of age (unless directed by a doctor)
    • People who are allergic to crotamiton, hydrocortisone, or any other ingredient in the cream
    • Those with infected skin (bacterial, fungal, or viral infections, including cold sores or chickenpox) unless also receiving appropriate treatment
    • People with acne, rosacea, or perioral dermatitis
    • Those with broken or weeping skin
    • Do not apply to the face unless specifically advised by a doctor

    Interactions

Eurax HC Cream is applied to the skin and is unlikely to interact significantly with most oral medicines. However, using other topical corticosteroid-containing products at the same time may increase the risk of side effects associated with steroids. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The use of topical corticosteroids such as hydrocortisone during pregnancy should be kept to a minimum and avoided on large areas of skin or for prolonged periods. If breastfeeding, avoid applying the cream to the breast or nipple area. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no known interaction between Eurax HC Cream and alcohol, as this product is applied to the skin rather than taken orally. It is safe to consume alcohol in moderation while using this cream.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Eurax HC Cream is applied topically and is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. If you experience any unexpected symptoms after use, exercise caution.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct heat and sunlight. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
