How It Works
Aspirin belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of prostaglandins — natural chemicals in the body that trigger pain, swelling, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin levels, aspirin helps to ease discomfort and bring down a high temperature.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and young people aged 16 and over: dissolve 2 to 3 tablets (600mg to 900mg) in water and take every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 12 tablets (3,600mg) in 24 hours. These tablets should be dissolved in water before taking — do not swallow them whole or chew them. Disprin 300mg is not suitable for children under 16 years of age, due to the risk of Reye’s syndrome. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Interactions
Aspirin can interact with a number of medicines, including anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin), other NSAIDs, methotrexate, certain antidepressants (SSRIs), antidiabetic medicines, antiepileptics (e.g. phenytoin, valproate), diuretics, and medicines used to treat gout. Taking aspirin alongside other pain medicines containing aspirin or ibuprofen increases the risk of side effects. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Aspirin should be avoided during pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester, as it may harm the unborn baby and cause complications during labour. Low-dose aspirin (75mg) is sometimes prescribed under medical supervision during pregnancy, but this product contains a higher dose and is not suitable for use during pregnancy without medical advice. Aspirin passes into breast milk in small amounts and should generally be avoided while breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Drinking alcohol while taking aspirin increases the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advisable to avoid alcohol, or keep consumption to a minimum, whilst taking Disprin 300mg Dispersible Tablets.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Aspirin at standard analgesic doses is not known to cause drowsiness or impair concentration. Disprin 300mg Dispersible Tablets are not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery under normal circumstances.
⸻
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the tablets in their original packaging. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
