Description
Dermol Wash – 200ml
Dermol Wash is a soap substitute and antiseptic emollient wash used to cleanse and moisturise dry, sensitive skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis. It is suitable for use in place of ordinary soap, which can strip the skin of its natural oils and cause irritation.
⸻
How It Works
Dermol Wash contains emollient ingredients that soften and hydrate the skin whilst forming a protective barrier to help lock in moisture. It also contains antimicrobial agents (benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine dihydrochloride) that help reduce bacteria on the skin’s surface, which can trigger flare-ups in conditions like eczema. Together, these ingredients cleanse the skin gently without disrupting its natural balance.
⸻
Directions for Use
Dermol Wash can be used as a soap substitute for washing hands, bathing, or showering. Apply directly to wet skin, lather gently, then rinse thoroughly with water. It is suitable for adults and children of all ages, including infants, though parental supervision is advised for young children. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

⸻
Interactions
Dermol Wash is applied to the skin and is not expected to interact with oral medicines. However, emollient products can make the skin and surfaces slippery, so take care when bathing or showering. Be aware that emollients soaked into fabric can increase the fire risk — keep clothing and bedding away from open flames. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Dermol Wash is generally considered suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as it is applied topically and systemic absorption is minimal. However, if you are using it near the breast area whilst breastfeeding, ensure the skin is thoroughly rinsed before feeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
There are no known interactions between Dermol Wash and alcohol. This product is for external use only and is not expected to be affected by alcohol consumption.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Dermol Wash does not affect alertness or concentration and is not expected to impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, please take care on wet, slippery surfaces after bathing, as emollient products can make floors slippery.
