    Description

    Clinitas Carbomer Gel 0.2% – 10g

Clinitas Carbomer Gel 0.2% is an eye gel used to relieve the symptoms of dry eye syndrome, such as soreness, irritation, grittiness, and a burning sensation. It is suitable for adults and children and provides longer-lasting lubrication compared to standard eye drops.

    How It Works

Carbomer is a gel-forming polymer that mimics the natural tear film on the surface of your eye. When applied, it spreads evenly across the eye and clings to the surface for longer than ordinary eye drops, providing sustained moisture and protection. This helps to soothe dryness and discomfort caused by insufficient natural tear production.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children: Apply one drop to the affected eye(s) up to 4 times a day, or as directed by your doctor. Gently pull down the lower eyelid, look upward, and place one drop into the pocket formed between the eyelid and the eye. Blink a few times to spread the gel evenly. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying the gel and wait at least 30 minutes before reinserting them. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Carbomer 974P (polyacrylic acid) 0.2% w/w

    Possible Side Effects

    • Temporary blurred vision immediately after application
    • Mild stinging or burning sensation upon instillation
    • Eye irritation or discomfort
    • Sticky eyelids, particularly after waking
    • Watery eyes

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • People who are allergic to carbomer (polyacrylic acid) or any other ingredient in the gel (including cetrimide, sodium hydroxide, or sorbitol)
    • Do not use if the seal has been broken before first use
    • Do not use whilst wearing contact lenses — lenses must be removed before application

    Interactions

Clinitas Carbomer Gel is applied to the eye and is not significantly absorbed into the body, so interactions with other medicines are unlikely. However, if you are using other eye drops or eye preparations, wait at least 5 minutes between applying each product; apply eye drops before the gel, as the gel may reduce the absorption of other eye medicines. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Clinitas Carbomer Gel is applied topically to the eye and is not expected to be absorbed into the bloodstream in significant amounts. It is generally considered suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but as with all medicines, caution is advised. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no known interaction between Clinitas Carbomer Gel and alcohol. As this is a topical eye preparation, it is not absorbed into the bloodstream in significant quantities and is unlikely to be affected by alcohol consumption.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Clinitas Carbomer Gel may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after application, which could affect your ability to drive or operate machinery safely. Wait until your vision is completely clear before driving or using machinery after applying the gel.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct heat and sunlight. Once opened, discard the tube after 6 months. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
