Description
Clarityn Allergy Syrup Kids Mixed Berry – 60ml
Clarityn Allergy Syrup Kids Mixed Berry is a sugar-free, berry-flavoured liquid medicine containing loratadine, suitable for children aged 2 years and over. It provides 24-hour relief from allergy symptoms such as sneezing, a runny or itchy nose, itchy and watery eyes, and skin reactions like hives (nettle rash), caused by hay fever or other allergies.
⸻
How It Works
Loratadine is a non-drowsy antihistamine that works by blocking histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is a chemical released during an allergic reaction that causes symptoms like sneezing, itching, and a runny nose. By blocking its effects, loratadine helps to relieve these symptoms for up to 24 hours.
⸻

Interactions
Loratadine is generally well tolerated with few drug interactions. However, some medicines including ketoconazole, erythromycin, and cimetidine may increase loratadine levels in the blood. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
This product is intended for use in children; however, it contains loratadine, which is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor. Loratadine can pass into breast milk. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Alcohol is not expected to significantly increase the sedative effects of loratadine, as it is considered a non-drowsy antihistamine. However, it is generally advisable to avoid alcohol in children, and this product is intended for paediatric use only.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Clarityn Allergy Syrup Kids contains loratadine, which is classified as a non-drowsy antihistamine and is unlikely to affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. However, some children may occasionally feel sleepy, so parents and carers should monitor how the child responds to the medicine, especially when starting treatment.
