Clarityn Allergy Syrup contains loratadine, an antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever and other allergies, including sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and skin reactions such as hives.

How It Works

Loratadine works by blocking histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is a natural chemical released during an allergic reaction that causes symptoms like itching, sneezing, and a runny nose. By blocking histamine, loratadine helps to reduce or prevent these symptoms. Unlike older antihistamines, loratadine is considered non-drowsy for most people.

Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: take 10 ml (10 mg) once daily. Children aged 2 to 12 years weighing more than 30 kg: take 10 ml (10 mg) once daily. Children aged 2 to 12 years weighing 30 kg or less: take 5 ml (5 mg) once daily. This syrup is not recommended for children under 2 years of age. Use the measuring device provided to ensure the correct dose. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.

Possible Side Effects

• Headache
• Feeling sleepy or tired
• Dry mouth
• Nausea

Who Should Not Use This Product

• People who are allergic to loratadine or any other ingredient in this product
• Children under 2 years of age
• People with severe liver problems (consult a doctor before use)
• People with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency (this syrup contains sugar)
• Those taking other medicines that may interact with loratadine — speak to your PillSorted pharmacist if unsure

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Once opened, use within the period stated on the label. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
