    Description

    Clarityn Allergy 10mg – 7 Tablets

Clarityn Allergy 10mg Tablets contain loratadine, a non-drowsy antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of hayfever and other allergies, such as sneezing, a runny or itchy nose, and itchy, watery eyes.

    How It Works

Loratadine works by blocking histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is a natural chemical released during an allergic reaction that causes symptoms like sneezing, itching, and a runny nose. By blocking histamine, loratadine helps to reduce and relieve these symptoms without causing significant drowsiness in most people.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: take one 10mg tablet once daily. Children aged 2 to 12 years: dosing is based on body weight — refer to the patient information leaflet for full details. The tablet can be taken with or without food. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Loratadine 10mg per tablet

    Possible Side Effects

    • Headache
    • Feeling tired or drowsy (uncommon, but possible)
    • Dry mouth
    • Nausea
    • Stomach upset
    • Skin rash (rare)

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Children under 2 years of age
    • Anyone who is allergic to loratadine or any other ingredient in the tablet
    • People with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption (refer to the patient information leaflet for excipient details)
    • People with severe liver problems (without medical advice)

    Interactions

Loratadine may interact with certain medicines, including some antibiotics (such as erythromycin), antifungals (such as ketoconazole), and cimetidine (used for indigestion), which may increase the level of loratadine in the blood. Grapefruit juice may also affect how loratadine is processed in the body. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The safety of loratadine during pregnancy has not been fully established, and it is not recommended for use during the first trimester without medical guidance. Loratadine passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally not recommended during breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Although loratadine is considered non-drowsy, drinking alcohol whilst taking this medicine may increase the risk of drowsiness. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption whilst taking Clarityn Allergy Tablets.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Clarityn is classed as a non-drowsy antihistamine and is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery in most people. However, a small number of people may still experience drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive or use machinery if you are affected in this way.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. No special storage conditions are required. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
