How It Works
Benzoyl peroxide works by releasing oxygen into the skin, which kills the bacteria (Cutibacterium acnes) responsible for causing acne spots. It also helps to reduce excess oil production and gently removes dead skin cells, helping to unblock pores and prevent new spots from forming.

Directions for Use
Wash the affected area with a mild cleanser and pat dry before applying the gel. Apply a thin layer of Acnecide 5% Gel to the affected area once daily, preferably in the evening. After one week, if your skin is tolerating the treatment well, you may increase use to twice daily. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, nostrils, and other sensitive areas. Possible Side Effects

• Allergic contact dermatitis (rare — symptoms include severe redness, swelling, or blistering)

Who Should Not Take This Medicine
• People who are allergic to benzoyl peroxide or any other ingredient in the gel
• Children under 12 years of age
• Those with very sensitive or eczema-prone skin (use with caution and seek advice first)
• Do not apply to broken, sunburned, or severely irritated skin

Interactions
Avoid using Acnecide 5% Gel at the same time as other topical acne products, particularly those containing tretinoin or isotretinoin, as this may cause excessive skin irritation. Using other skin products such as medicated soaps, abrasive cleansers, or products containing alcohol alongside this gel may also increase irritation. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

There is no known interaction between Acnecide 5% Gel and alcohol when used as a topical treatment. However, applying alcohol-based skincare products to the same area may increase skin dryness or irritation alongside this gel.

Acnecide 5% Gel is applied to the skin and is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. This product does not cause drowsiness.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not freeze. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
