    Description

    Zerodouble Gel Pump – 500g

Zerodouble Gel is a topical analgesic gel used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with muscular aches, joint pain, sprains, strains, and sports injuries. It is applied directly to the skin over the affected area for targeted, localised relief.

    How It Works

Zerodouble Gel contains ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). When rubbed into the skin, ibuprofen is absorbed through the skin and works by reducing the production of substances in the body called prostaglandins, which cause pain, swelling, and inflammation at the site of injury or discomfort.

    Directions for Use

For adults and children aged 14 years and over, apply a small amount of gel (typically 4–10 cm of gel, equivalent to around 50–125 mg ibuprofen) to the affected area up to 3 times daily. Gently rub the gel into the skin until absorbed. Wash hands after use and avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or broken skin. Do not use for more than 2 weeks without speaking to a doctor. Zerodouble Gel is not recommended for children under 14 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Ibuprofen 5% w/w (50 mg per gram of gel)

    Possible Side Effects

    • Skin redness, rash, or itching at the application site
    • Skin dryness or peeling
    • Mild burning or stinging sensation on the skin
    • Photosensitivity (increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight)
    • Localised swelling or irritation
    • In rare cases, allergic skin reactions such as blistering or hives

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • People who are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin, or any other NSAID
    • People who have experienced asthma, urticaria (hives), or allergic reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
    • Children under 14 years of age
    • Anyone with broken, damaged, infected, or inflamed skin at the application site
    • People in the third trimester (last 3 months) of pregnancy
    • Those with a known allergy to any other ingredient in the gel — refer to the patient information leaflet for the full list of excipients

    Interactions

Topical ibuprofen gel is absorbed through the skin in smaller amounts than oral ibuprofen, so interactions are less likely than with tablets. However, caution is advised if you are already taking oral NSAIDs, blood-thinning medicines (such as warfarin), or other topical skin treatments on the same area. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Zerodouble Gel should not be used during the third trimester of pregnancy. Use during the first and second trimesters should be avoided unless considered essential by a doctor, as topical ibuprofen may carry similar risks to oral ibuprofen. If you are breastfeeding, topical ibuprofen is generally considered lower risk than oral ibuprofen, but caution is still advised and it should not be applied to the breast area. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no known direct interaction between topical ibuprofen gel and alcohol. However, if you are also taking oral NSAIDs or other medicines alongside this gel, alcohol may increase the risk of side effects such as stomach irritation. Drink responsibly and consult your PillSorted pharmacist if you have any concerns.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Zerodouble Gel is applied to the skin and is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. If you experience any unexpected reactions after use that affect your alertness or coordination, do not drive and seek medical advice.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Keep the pump cap closed when not in use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
